The big-swinging Yankees offense was back in action in Sunday’s 15-3 victory over the Orioles, and Gary Sánchez led the charge with his team-leading fourth, fifth and sixth round-trippers of the young season. It was the 11th multi-homer game of his career, and his first time hitting three.
Sanchez cracked a two-run homer in the third inning off Orioles starter David Hess, then added a two-run shot in the seventh off Mike Wright, marking the slugger’s first two-homer game since May 19, 2018, against the Royals. He then added an exclamation point with yet another two-run homer in the eighth, this time off Dan Straily.
