Essayist and novelist Leslie Jamison will come to Wells College in Aurora for a master class and reading Wednesday, April 10.
The master class, “Writing Other People’s Lives,” takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the Faculty Parlors lounge of the Main Building. The reading follows at 6:30 p.m. in the Art Exhibit Room of Macmillan Hall. The college is located at 170 Main St., Aurora.
Jamison’s “The Recovering: Intoxication and its Aftermath” was named the top nonfiction book of 2018 by Entertainment Weekly. Her work has also appeared in Harper’s, Oxford American, The New York Times and more, and her newest essay collection, “Make it Scream, Make it Burn,” is scheduled to be published in the fall. She is an assistant professor at Columbia University.
Jamison’s visit is part of the college’s Visiting Writer Series. Admission to the class and the reading is free and open to the public.
