Former student arrested after threats made towards Bath Haverling High School

Police say a former student of Bath Central School District was arrested after becoming physical with the high school principal and making threats toward the school.

Bath Police arrested 18-year-old Cassandra Stage. According to Joe Rumsey, the Superintendent of Bath Central School District, Stage came into the high school at around 10:30 Friday morning. When she entered the main office she was very agitated and asked to leave by school officials, which made her even more agitated. Rumsey says Stage then became physical with the principal and said she was going to blow up the school. Law enforcement were called to the school and arrested Stage.

“I’m proud of our staff and how we handle things. Everything was done to deescalate this scenario and law enforcement were right on cue, and our students are safe, and that’s our first priority all the time, the students are safe, and they always will be safe,” says Rumsey.

Stage has been charged with making a terroristic threat, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. She is currently at the Steuben County Jail awaiting arraignment. Police say more charges could be.
