Firefighters from the Phelps Fire Department stepped up to help first responders in another state.
The Roby Fire Department in Missouri had recently announced they set up a GoFundMe to help raise funds for new equipment and apparatuses.
Several months ago, Phelps Fire retired one of its old truck to make way for a replacement. The old truck had been for sale since then, but the department had not found a buyer.
Captain Brandon DeBaere contacted firefighters in Roby about their truck. After working out the logistics, officials from Roby picked up the truck this week.
“It is sad to see the old 2121 go,” the Phelps Fire Department posted on social media this week, “but we are happy to help a fellow fire department in need.”
