New York Mets workout inside the Carrier Dome on Tuesday (full coverage)

The New York Mets’ journey to the Carrier Dome on Tuesday got off to a rough start.

The team closed its spring training schedule with a game against Baltimore on Monday in Sarasota, Fla. New York was then scheduled to fly to Syracuse, but mechanical problems delayed their flight about three hours.

“That was interesting, yeah. That was a good start to the season’s travel,” outfielder Brandon Nimmo said Tuesday. “That’s never fun, but we made the most of the opportunity. That was some good team bonding and we were able to talk about some things that maybe we hadn’t had the opportunity to talk about before between the pitchers and the position players and how we wanted to approach the season.”

That approach then took its scheduled detour through Syracuse, and, at least in the public face put on by the Mets on Tuesday afternoon, it was well worth it. Read More at Syracuse.com
