Man stabs wife ‘multiple times’ in the neck, charged with attempted murder in Campbell

Police say a 31-year-old Campbell man has been charged with attempted murder after he stabbed his wife in the neck several times Monday night.

Nicholas Rideout is accused of stabbing his wife Sarah several times in the neck with a knife at their home on State Route 415 in Campbell.

Rideout took off before police arrived. Police say he was apprehended about two hours later, and was holding the knife used in the attack when police attempted to take him into custody.

Police say Sarah Rideout is listed in stable, but critical condition at Rober Packer Hospital.

Nicholas Rideout was taken to the same hospital for treatment of unnamed injuries, according to first responders.

Police say he was previously arrested during a meth bust in 2017 along with four other people.
