A registered sex offender is facing charges after investigators say he had forced sexual contact with an individual while posing as a SUNY Brockport student.
David Castaneda is a registered level two sex offender. State Police say he had forced sexual contact with an individual in October 2018 after he had posed as a SUNY Brockport student on social media.
He has been charged with criminal sex act and 12 counts of falsifying a business record for filing false records with the college. He was remanded to jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
Castaneda, troopers say, may also be known as David Cataneda Trejo or David James.
Troopers say there may be other victims in this case, and they are asking anyone with information to call 585-398-4100.
