Rep. Reed will seek another term in Congress next year

Congressman Tom Reed of the 23rd Congressional District confirmed exclusively with 18 News that he will run for re-election in 2020.

Congressman Reed made the official announcement during the taping of Dr. Stephen Coleman’s web show “Coleman and Company” Friday afternoon.

“You’re running for re-election for the sixth term, is that correct?” Dr. Coleman asked on the web show’s taping.

“I am, yeah,” Reed replied.



Reed has served the 23rd Congressional District since 2013. The District covers the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes and Western New York.

He currently serves on the influential House Ways and Means Committee as the Republican Leader of the Social Security Subcommittee.
