Pedestrian identified, remains ‘critical’ after Williamson crash

On Wednesday, a Williamson man was struck by a vehicle traveling on Route 104. On Friday the identity of the victim was released by authorities.

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian was traveling east along Route 104.

Wayne County ALS, Williamson Ambulance, and East Williamson Fire Department, as well as Williamson Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Deputies say 52-year-old Dale Cook of Williamson was running across Route 104 near Pound Road when he was hit around 9:30 p.m. He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital and remains in critical condition.

The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
