The Town Board will continue a public hearing that started Feb. 21 on the application of del Lago Resort & Casino for construction of an expanded smoking area at the casino.
The hearing will resume at 6:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the board’s regular meeting at the Municipal Building, 1695 Route 318. It will consider the amended site and development plan application of del Lago for construction of an expanded smoking area.
Casino officials said they want to expand the smoking area in response to demand from patrons who smoke and to help the casino compete with non-Indian casinos that allow smoking.
The regular board meeting will follow.
On March 26, the Tyre Planning Board will conduct public hearings on two other applications.
The first will be at 6:30 p.m. on a site plan review application by the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce for renovation and addition to the historic former Dr. Thomas Magee house at Routes 414 and 318. The Chamber wants to buy the house, built in 1821, to renovate it into its offices and the Finger Lakes Gateway Visitors Center and to add a wing on the north for a meeting room.
