Police: Seneca Falls man charged with DWI after striking telephone pole, totaling vehicle

On Monday at 11:50 p.m. the Seneca County 911 Center received a call reporting a personal injury crash.

The initial reports received stated that a vehicle struck a telephone pole. Multiple departments responded to the scene, including the Seneca Falls Police and Fire departments, along with North Seneca Ambulance.

Upon arrival, first responders located one occupant, identified as Richard V. Sliski, 64, of Seneca Falls.

He appeared to be uninjured, according to police. He was checked over by North Seneca Ambulance, but eventually refused medical treatment or transport.

Further investigation determined that the vehicle was totaled; and Sliski was under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DWI, failure to maintain lane, and driving with a BAC over 0.08 percent.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
