Dog dragged by leash during vehicle pursuit in Wayne County

Police say a parking violation led to a brief vehicle pursuit, with a small dog being injured after it was dragged by its leash.

According to the Macedon Police Department David Fallon Jr., 37, of Rochester refused to comply with officer’s orders to exit his vehicle after a traffic stop stemming from a parking violation in the Walmart parking lot along Rt. 31.

Police say the two occupants refused to provide their names and dates of birth. David proceeded to flee the scene in his motor vehicle.

Upon fleeing, his Shih Tzo dog fell out of the vehicle and was being dragged by its leash along the roadway.

Fallon had to stop to pull the dog back into the vehicle, where police again tried to remove him from the vehicle.

Police say the man was pepper sprayed, but still fled the scene. He was ultimately able to flee into Monroe County where officers were able to apprehend him.

Fallon was charged with reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, animal carried in cruel manner, and 12 other traffic citations.

His passenger, Christina Warren, 54, was also arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and turned over to deputies in Monroe County.
