State police: Dryden man fired shot from house, evaded shelter-in-place

State troopers are looking for a Dryden man who fired a gunshot from a house and escaped a shelter-in-place, according to a Tuesday night release from New York State Police.

Eric McLaurin, 31, of Dryden, is suspected of firing a shot from a house in the 1100 block of Dryden Road, police said.

Troopers were dispatched to a shots fired call at 2:41 p.m., according to police. Police say a woman and child were reportedly in the house at the time of the call, but they left before troopers arrived. Troopers closed Dryden Road between Turkey Hill and Baker Hill roads and issued a shelter-in-place for residents in the area that lasted several hours, police said.
