Deputies: Waterloo woman charged with aggravated DWI after attempting to flee crash scene

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Waterloo woman attempted to flee the scene of an accident along Whiskey Hill Road on Saturday around 10:30 p.m. She was subsequently apprehended and arrested on multiple charges.

Deputies say Teagan A. Jahna, 24, of Waterloo was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, moving from lane unsafely, and refusal to submit to a breath test.

The arrest stems from an investigation into a one-car property damage accident where Jahna was found to be traveling south on Whiskey Hill Road, and left the shoulder of the road – striking two trees and a mailbox.

Jahna had attempted to flee the scene and was located a short distance away, according to deputies. She suffered no injuries, but the vehicle suffered extensive damage.

It was towed from the scene, and Jahna was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
