It will be an active weather weekend in the Finger Lakes. But it shouldn’t negatively impact your plans.
Here’s what we’ve got for the remainder of the weekend:
Today starts cold. Overnight lows were in the single-digits across the region. Things will warm-up, and push toward 30 degrees. Eventually, this afternoon those temperatures will push into the low-30s. There will be plenty of sun, so if you’re hitting the road at any point during the afternoon – bring the sunglasses.
Saturday features a lot of sun, too. High temperatures will push to about 40 degrees, and a light breeze will allow for the ‘pick’ day of the weekend.
By Saturday Night precipitation will move into the region – setting up for a windy, soggy, and mild end to the weekend. Expect some of that precipitation to be mixed with sleet during the overnight hours before changing to all-rain by daybreak on Sunday.
Sunday will be a wet day. Rain is expected throughout the day as a large storm system passes by the Finger Lakes. As that system passes, it will push sustained winds into the 20-25 mph range, with gusts to 35-40 mph. The National Weather Serviced hasn’t issued any advisories for the system, or wind – but that breeze will be coming from the south.
That means temperatures will climb quickly during the morning hours – reaching 50 degrees in some places – before a cold front brings us back to reality for the start of the new work week.
We'll warm into the 50s on Sunday, but it'll come with some wind. Gusts in the mid 40s, possibly to 50 mph *possible*. No headlines posted for this storm yet. pic.twitter.com/Opx6tfBADY
