Romulus woman charged after welfare fraud investigation

Deputies report the arrest of a 47-year-old Romulus resident on welfare fraud charges following an investigation.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Katrina M. Szul, 47, of Romulus on multiple charges including offering a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, and misuse of food stamps.



Szul is accused of failing to disclose household income while receiving monetary benefits from Seneca County.

Szul was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Waterloo Village Court at a later date.
