Karin Meuwissen’s Gananda Lady Blue Panthers found themselves trailing 31-23 at the half to the Avon Braves in Saturday’s Section V Class C1 Championship Game at Victor High School on Saturday afternoon. Senior Peyton Daeffler scored 7 straight points in the third quarter to help her team take a 33-31 lead late in the third quarter. Then Avon would go on a 5-0 fourth quarter run to go up 48-42. It was a lead they would not relinquish, and behind clutch late free throw shooting, the Lady Braves would triumph with a 57-48 victory and the Class C1 Sectional title.
