Despite service issues in 2018, the town is once again turning to Cardinal Disposal of Dundee for curbside pickup of trash from properties in the former village of Seneca Falls.
The Town Board awarded a contract to the company Friday.
Cardinal provided the service last year, but the town went out for bids for 2019 and awarded a contract to D&L Disposal of Newark at a price of $126,000.
But D&L ran into problems and after a month asked the town to let it out of the contract, saying it couldn’t meet its terms at the bid price. The board agreed and solicited a new round of bids to pick up trash at 2,528 properties. The town sought bids for 2019, with an option to renew for 2020 and 2021.
The bids were opened Friday.
