Tompkins Co. man accused of harassing motel staff, exposing himself in public

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of harassing staff at an Ithaca Econolodge and exposing himself in public areas inside the motel.

Deputies responded to the Econolodge on N. Triphammer Road on Feb. 17 for reports of a disorderly individual.

When deputies attempted to speak to the man, identified as 50-year-old Scott Linderberry, he allegedly barricaded himself in his room and told law enforcement that he had a firearm and that he would shoot them.

The Ithaca SWAT team and Crisis Negotiations Team was activated and Linderberry was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Linderberry was charged with public lewdness, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
