A comprehensive plan for this village of 5,200 people will be subject to a public hearing and possible vote at Monday’s Village Board meeting.
The plan, finalized in 2018, includes 59 goals to achieve in 12 categories over the next 10 years. The goals are divided into immediate, ongoing, short-term and long-term.
The goals are in categories of natural resources and environment, economic development, canal and waterfront development, downtown, housing, parks and recreation, infrastructure and utilities, transportation, zoning code enforcement and zoning and land use.
After the public hearing, the board will consider voting to adopt the plan.
The plan was funded, in part, by a $50,000 Cleaner Greener Communities grant from the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency. The village hired Thoma Development Consultants of Cortland to assist a local committee in developing it.
