The Newark Central School District Athletic Department is looking for volunteers to serve on an Advisory Committee.
“Our school district has 26 different sports programs consisting of 56 different teams,’’ explained Chris Corey, Director of Health, Physical Education & Athletics. “Each year about 550 students participate in these programs during the three seasons we play. We are always looking at ways this department and our students athletes can be the very best they can be and another way we feel we can achieve that goal is by having advisory committee members to help us achieve our objective. Ultimately, our mission is to develop great teammates and we want to ensure our department is meeting that goal.”
Corey said advisory committee representatives will include: coaches and former coaches of Boys and Girls Varsity, JV, Modified teams; BOE members and school administrators, student athletes, parents, alumni and community members.
Led by Corey, the committee will meet three or four times during the Spring season this year.
Anyone interested in becoming an Advisory Committee member should e-mail Corey by February 8th at mailto:[email protected].
