Seneca Falls woman leads deputies on brief pursuit before crashing into snowy ditch

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on February 3rd at approximately 12:45 a.m. deputies arrested a 25-year-old Seneca Falls resident following an incident in Tyre.

Cassie M. McGhan, 25, of Seneca Falls was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated – having a BAC over 0.18 percent, reckless driving, and failure to comply with a police officer. She was also ticketed for failing to keep right, and having inadequate headlights.

The charges stem from an attempted traffic stop on Gravel Road and State Route 318, of which was initiated due to McGhan driving without any headlights on.

They say that when a traffic stop was attempted – McGhan failed to stop – leading deputies on a short pursuit. During that pursuit deputies allege that Mcghan was driving into oncoming traffic before losing control and entering into a snow filled ditch.

No injuries were reported after the incident. The charges will be answered at a later date, according to deputies.
