School leaders confirmed a case of whooping cough in the Webster Central School District.
The district says a student at Spry Middle School was treated for pertussis.
Pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory disease known for uncontrollable and violent coughing.
Doctors say the best protection is to get vaccinated.
