The Humane Society of Wayne County is doing its part to keep pets warm this winter.
It’s working with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies for its new “Dog Blue” initiative.
With the program, pet owners who are unable to bring outdoor-sheltered dogs inside can request help from the Humane Society. For a pre-determined amount of time, the Humane Society will house dogs at its shelter, keeping them warm and fed.
The program is open to Wayne County residents, and accommodations must be pre-arranged. For more information on the program and requirements, click here.
