Sheriff: Former worker stole thousands in merchandise from Waterloo Outlet store

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man, formerly of Syracuse, who’s been accused of stealing thousands in merchandise while employed at the Waterloo Premium Outlet Mall.

RaShawn D. Hightower, 31, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, and five counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing – all felonies.



Investigators say that while employed at the mall – Hightower made five false transactions on a company computer and passed merchandise past the point of sale on multiple occasions.

The thefts happened between November 15th and November 30th. Altogether, the estimated loss was approximately $3,400.

Investigators learned that Hightower relocated to Brooklyn, New York, and after being arrested on unrelated charges there – was extradited to Seneca County.
