The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has released new information following the arrest and standoff, which took place on January 12th along State Route 104 in Williamson.
Shannon Jones, who was being held on unrelated charges at the Wayne County Jail was charged with one count of criminal contempt, one count of harassment, and five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Jones is accused of having physical contact with a female at a Williamson residence, which was a violation of a court order.
Five children were present during the standoff, which lasted hours, and prompted response from multiple counties.
Deputies at the scene had been made aware of several outstanding warrants for Jones’ arrest; and during the incident – he refused to exit the property.
Additional court dates were not indicated by law enforcement.
