Downtown projects seeking funding through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative will be reviewed once more at the Auburn Local Planning Committee’s next meeting.
Slated for Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 3:30 p.m. at city hall, the meeting will review public feedback and discuss the future of the committee’s Strategic Investment Plan. The plan, which will have details on the selected projects, will be submitted to the state in March.
The LPC will take another look at a list of 29 project proposals requesting DRI funding. All together, the projects are asking for $21.8 million despite the LPC having $10 million to work with.
At the last two DRI public workshops, the Auburn community was invited to share thoughts on what the city could use downtown. Members of the community also took part in an exercise to determine which projects deserve state funding.
