Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce is urging residents to use extreme caution this weekend, ahead of the major winter storm, expected to drop more than a foot in most locations.
Luce said that in addition to falling and blowing snow, extreme cold will make travel dangerous. He said deputies, county highway personnel and emergency management office personnel will be monitoring road and weather conditions as the storm comes through the area.
“More importantly, starting Sunday into Monday the wind will pick up and the wind chill is expected to be 20 to 35 degrees below zero,” Luce said on Friday. “Please be prepared for this storm in advance, and remember during the extreme cold to take safety precautions.”
