Shaq Lawson was improved in 2018, but should Bills invest a 5th year in him?

The Buffalo Bills have not decided to pick up the fifth-year option on a first-round draft pick since 2015, a move they made in order to bring back cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

The Bills passed on the option for quarterback EJ Manuel in the spring of 2016, also declined when wide receiver Sammy Watkins was up in 2017, and last year they had no one eligible because they did not have a first-round pick in the 2015 draft.

In a few months, they’ll have to decide what to do regarding defensive end Shaq Lawson, the first-round pick from 2016, and in listening to general manager Brandon Beane speak on that topic at his season-ending press conference on Dec. 30, it sounds like he’s not certain what he’ll do.
