The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of a 37-year-old resident following a series of complaints that were reported over the phone.
Alisha T. Simmons, 37, of Penn Yan was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and resisting arrest, according to police.
They say that over the course of several weeks Simmons called police to file complaints, which were found to be repeatedly untrue. Despite warnings to cease, she continued to do so.
Police say that the emergency calls were investigated individually, and found to be untrue in each instance.
As result, she was arrested. However, as authorities attempted to place Simmons under arrest – she resisted, physically fighting with officers.
As result she was charged with resisting in addition to the falsely reporting charge.
She was transported to the Yates County Jail and will answer the charges in village court at a later date.
