Geneva held on to edge Pal-Mac by a single point in a Finger Lakes East battle Wednesday night in Palmyra. The Panthers trailed by 6 late in the 3rd quarter before going on a 14-0 run to grab a 46-38 lead with just under 2 minutes to play. Liam Ryan and Davonte Johnson hit key three pointers to fuel the run. The Raiders responded with a 7-0 run of their own and had a chance to win at the buzzer, but their desperation heave fell short. Reid Patchett was dominant in the paint for the Panthers all night, finishing with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Johnson wound up with 6 points and 4 assists off the bench. Zach Baker netted 16 for Pal-Mac, while Nick Sapienza added 12.
In the Finger Lakes West, Naples jumped out to a 23 to 8 score at the end of the first quarter but narrowly held on to win 58 to 56 over South Seneca.
In Wayne County it was Justice Smith scoring 37 points as the league leading Lyons Lions rolled over the Marion Black Knights despite 26 points from Jon Binau.

Fun game. Both teams battled hard.Really like these young kids from SOTA(mostly Soph & Fresh)
Coach Nash does a nice job with them. Teaches them to play the right way. Really gets on them when they don’t share the ball. Love it!@PickinSplinters— Doug Crego (@hoopstalkdc) January 10, 2019
