One dead after speed, snowy roads led to single-car crash in Manchester

Deputies say a 25-year-old was killed in a crash, which shut down an Ontario County road during the early-morning hours on Thursday.

The crash happened on Outlet Road near Faas Road in the Town of Manchester a little before 5:30 a.m.

Jose Garcia-Rodriguez, 25, lost control of his vehicle while traveling east. The force of the vehicle slamming into the utility pole caused it to be sheared off.

He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Deputies say that snow-covered roads and speed were contributing factors.
