Ontario home damaged by weekend blaze

A home in the Town of Ontario suffered serious damage on Saturday, in a fire that was identified around 10 a.m. by a passerby.

First responders were called to the Bear Creek Road residence, according to Ontario Fire Chief Kevin Halstead.

He said no one was home at the time, and fire officials believe it started at the rear of the home.

The house was not destroyed but suffered serious damage.

The official cause remains under investigation.
