Marion junior Chloe DeLyser broke the New York State record for career girls soccer goals with her 252nd in a 7-0 victory over Pembroke in the Class C2 quarterfinal match-up on Friday night. She broke away from the defense early in the first half and beat the Pembroke goalkeeper for the record breaking goal.

DeLyser scored five goals on the night as she broke the New York State career goal scoring record that was previously held by Grand Island’s Maddie Pezzino with 251. DeLyser has 75 goals on the year which is also a New York State single-season record.
Although still just a junior, DeLyser has committed to Ohio State.
Marion now advances to the semifinals at 5 pm on Tuesday against #4 seed Holley at Webster Thomas.
