Labor Day is behind us and for some it means the first day of school has arrived. While most area schools will be in-session by Wednesday – a few in the Finger Lakes kick off on Tuesday.
However, with the unofficial arrival of fall – some might be expecting fall-like weather. That won’t be reality for at least a couple days.
Students will be heading back in near-record-breaking heat on Tuesday and Wednesday – with temperatures pushing through the 80s and into the 90s.
Some patchy fog out there early this morning. Becoming very warm and steamy again today with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Expect even more uncomfortable conditions on Wednesday as heat indices approaching 100 degrees. pic.twitter.com/L6iFvmJEeC

A mixture of clouds and sunshine along with above average dew point levels will make for an uncomfortable afternoon. It won’t feel as hot and humid as Labor Day – but will still feel unseasonable at this point.
Get set for near record setting temperatures for Wednesday with a return to full hazy, hot and humid conditions and only a slight chance for a hit or miss thunderstorm late in the afternoon.

Thursday will still be quite humid, but clouds and showers should hold temperatures back. Much more comfortable weather is likely for Friday into Saturday.
