A man who grew up in Lansing died after falling or jumping off of a moving train.
An eastern Iowa sheriff said the body of Robert Lamb, 29, was found near Princeton in Iowa's Scott County.
Lamb was a graduate of Ithaca High School and the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport.
Scott County Sheriff Tim Lane said Monday that Lamb, of LeClaire, had been drinking and likely was involved in what’s been called train jumping or train hopping. Lane says the perilous activity has been glorified in social media videos.
He says people should stay away from trains, noting their speed is hard to judge because they’re so large.
Lamb worked for Genesis Systems Group, a robotics company based out of Davenport, Iowa, according to social media website linkedin.com. Prior to joining Genesis Systems Group, Lamb worked for John Deere in Moline, Ill.
