Victor man leads deputies on pursuit through Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a late-night pursuit on Sunday resulted in a number of charges, and moved through three different communities around 10 pm.

Deputies say Anthony J. Tiberio, 31, of Victor passed a marked patrol car with mounted license plate readers, which activated an alarm for a stolen vehicle from Ohio.

Tiberio failed to stop for patrols on State Route 104 – traveling through the towns of Ontario, Williamson, and Sodus. He fled from the vehicle on foot after the vehicle pursuit and was found a short time later in a wooded area along State Route 88 in Sodus.

Tiberio was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration. Unlawfully fleeing a police officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation, speed over 55 mph, speed in zone, failure to yield the right of way, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

He was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

The charges ill be answered in Ontario, Williamson, and Sodus town courts at a later dates.
