Deputies: Man charged with felony offense in Manchester

A 29-year-old man faces felony charges in Ontario County after an investigation into a protective order, which was violated by illegal communication, according to deputies.

On June 6th at approximately 9:30 a.m. deputies arrested Thomas Coupe, 29, of Erin, New York after a warrant was issued for his arrest out of Manchester Town Court.

He was taken into custody at the Wayne County Jail and charged with aggravated family offense, which is a Class E felony. He was also charged with second-degree criminal contempt, according to deputies.

The charges stem from an investigation, which revealed that he had communication with a female who had an order of protection preventing him from contacting her. Due to his previous conviction of a crime in the previous five years – he is also charged with committing an aggravated family offense, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arraigned in Manchester Town Court and committed to the Ontario County jail.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
