The No. 6 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team (6-4, 3-0 ACC) saw its three-game win streak snapped at the hands of No. 11 Cornell (8-3, 4-1 IVY), 13-8 on Tuesday night in Ithaca, N.Y.
The Big Red used a pair of three-goal runs to turn a 2-2 game into an 8-3 game in the first minute of the second half, to create a deficit that the Orange couldn’t overcome.
“I thought Cornell played very well at home here tonight,” said head coach John Desko. “Their goalie was exceptional and it surprised us because I thought we were going to see a right-handed goalie and a lefty came out and made some key saves in the first half. We didn’t quit the whole game. Our guys played hard in the second half with a couple mistakes but Cornell is a good team.
