A photonics company is creating up to 10 new jobs and retaining 17 others as part of its expansion plans, Empire State Development announced this week.
As part of its $665,000 expansion, photonics and laser manufacturer TOPTICA Photonics will purchase new machinery and equipment. It is expected that the expansion of the 5847 County Road 41 company will be completed in September 2020.
Supporting the growing photonics industry is a central part of the regionally designed economic development plan Finger Lakes Forward, ESD said in a press release.
“The Finger Lakes region has the skilled workforce and innovation-based economy that TOPTICA Photonics needs to grow in New York state,” said Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “This expansion builds on the region’s leadership as an epicenter for advancement in this high-tech industry.”
