Police investigate armed robbery of Domino’s delivery driver in Ithaca

Police were called to the 400 block of Elm Street for a reported robbery around 8:55 p.m. on Monday.

Police say the victim was a Domino’s delivery driver, who was delivering in the area when he was approached by a male who demanded all of his money.

The suspect reportedly searched the victim’s pockets before displaying a small black handgun and demanded money again. After searching the victim’s pockets again, he demanded money and fired the handgun twice into the ground.

At that point, the suspect fled the area on foot toward the direction of West Village. A change pouch with approximately $30 and various credit cards were stolen.

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’7” tall, thin, wearing dark pants — and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The investigation of this incident is underway. Anyone with information is urged to call Ithaca Police at (607) 272-3245.
