Deputies say a Newark duo was charged with falsely reporting an incident after an accident at the intersection of State Routes 414 and 318 late-last month.
Sacha Santana, 32, and Richard Barnes, 34, were each charged with one count of third-degree falsely reporting an incident. Barnes was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and three other minor traffic offenses.
The arrest stems from a personal injury accident on January 31st. Deputies report that an SUV being driven by Chelsie Becker, 28, of Moraiva was stopped at a red light heading west on Route 318, when a sedan operated by Barnes struck the SUV from behind.
When deputies arrived Richard and Santana allegedly reported false information that was important to the accident.
They are both to appear before the Town of Tyre Court on February 20th to answer the charges.
