The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on January 27th at approximately 8:30 pm deputies arrested a 43-year-old Ovid resident for impersonating a police officer.
Allan L. Murray, 43, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation. Deputies say that Murray was arrested after an incident at a business in Tyre where he had been ordered to leave.
Murray then falsely identified himself as a deputy to security officers to regain entry.
He was charged and arraigned in Tyre Town Court. Murray was released on his own recongnizance and will have to answer the charges on February 20th at 9:00 am.
