As the weather has been setting up over the last several weeks — the pattern looks active again this weekend, with warm conditions, rainfall, and then plunging temperatures as we start the new week.
FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says Friday’s weather will feature ample sunshine and warming temperatures. He says mid- to upper-40s will be common throughout the region.
Saturday will be another warm-and-comfortable day for late-January, but a few scattered rain showers will likely develop during the middle of the afternoon. The rain should become more widespread as the evening hours approach on Saturday.
Winds will be gusting out of the south in the 30 to 35 mph range, which will help push that unseasonably warm weather into the Finger Lakes.
Sunday’s high temperatures will hover in the low-40s. It won’t be quite as warm as Friday or Saturday, but it will be significantly drier — according to Montreuil.
