WHEC-TV (Channel 10) reports on fund-raising activities at Rochester Institute of Technology in support of Haitian earthquake relief.
Anchor: And here in our area, RIT Students, faculty and staff are helping out the earthquake relief effort. They're collecting donations in the Student Alumni Union on campus. One person today went to an ATM and gave $100.
Charon Sattler, donated money for Haiti: "Just seeing the images are really are striking. We have so much here and it's so easy to come down and just write a check. And hopefully it will do some really good things when it gets there."
Phyllis Walker, RIT Leadership Institute: "It's bringing home because we have a lot of international students. And we also have a big Haiti community in Rochester, so we want to show we support this worthy cause."
