Sixteen trains were caught by my camera on June 11, 2010 on two seperate trips, and the first trip is featured here. ICE SD40s on another ethanol train, this time eastbound K644, got me up bright and early on a sunny Friday morning, and after a quick bike ride to the Erie Canal Trail bridge at Chicago Line milepost 374.4 on the west side of the city of Rochester, we bagged our ICE-powered K-train, then waited to see what else passed by. Includes the ICE set on K644, roaring Geeps on local B791, Amtrak train 48 (the Lake Shore Limited), Q262 with an unusual Geep pair, as well as Q109, L115, and Q117, all with wide-cab GE trios. The fun continues in Part 2, when a railfan friend invites me on a trip back out that same Friday afternoon to shoot some trains. The tripod is here to stay, as you'll see in Part 2, so be sure to watch it, and enjoy watching Part 1!
