New York State Canal Corp Tug Boat Seneca @ Cayuga, NY 6/1/2012 The State had been out working its way from the West to the East cleaning up fallen trees that had shut the canal down from a major storm that rocked most of New York on May 28th. Here in Cayuga, NY boats had been stuck in Cayuga Lake do to a huge willow tree 5 feet in diameter had snapped in half from winds that hit as high at 110m.p.h. The tree was blocking the Locks on the North end leading into the River. There working with what they had on hand a clam shell bucket to remove trees.
