Watch out for those stray tractors! My latest batch of footage from the CSX Chicago Line in Western NY kicks off with two scenes from my home-away-from-home, Pixley Road crossing just west of Rochester, for shots of Q169 and L161 on July 8th. Then, footage from a big trip out on July 14th is featured, as myself and two friends attempt to wait for Q351 with CN/IC power. Although Q351 was due through Rochester in daylight, striking a tractor in Utica, some 175 miles to the east, delayed it as well as most other westbound trains that night, and we never did shoot our target train. Even so, I did manage to capture Q279 with an AC60/CSX Dash-9 pair, more Dash-9s and an SD60 on Q377, a RARE Herzog ballast train with great power, Q161 with an SD50 trailing, trains B796, P283, and Q122, Q380 with shiny new BNSF ES44DCs, plus a final shot of Amtrak train P049, once we learn that Q351 won't be headed our way any time soon. Finally, the video ends with a grab shot from Pix of Q390 on the 15th on the way back from hanging out with a non-railfan friend... Enjoy! Coming up next- my shot of UP Heritage unit 1982, so stay tuned!!
