Dr. Bradford Berk made his first public appearance this morning since suffering a spinal injury in May.
The University of Rochester Medical Center Chief Executive Officer On Leave used a motorized wheelchair to enter a conference room at Strong Memorial Hospital where he addressed the media about his injury and recovery.
Berk talked about the day he was biking on North Vine Valley Road in Middlesex, Yates County, when a car came around a sharp curve causing him to lose control and go over the bike's handlebars. The fall caused the Brighton resident to fracture his third cervical vertebrae.
The doctor spent three months as an in-patient at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey. Date Added: October 1st, 2009
