We rallied to protest the fact that Bank of America does not pay any taxes on their earnings and therefore putting the burden of our national deficit on the backs of the middle and lower income taxpayers. The burden comes in the form of lower wages, longer working hours, and cuts to necessary programs and organizations. Now that the US is in a budget crisis, it is only fair that corporations such as Bank of America start to pay their fair share. At this demonstration we presented a bill to Bank of America demanding that they pay $3.95 BILLION in taxes that they owe us from between 2006 and 2010. These are taxes they wee able to avoid paying through all the tax loop-holes that currently exist.
